If you have used other web designers before, you may find our "no-nonsense" approach to web design to be refreshing. In 2009 we are looking back on 10 years of web site development for hundreds of small and large firms...some of which was very expensive "custom" web site design and development. But with age comes wisdom, and we've realized that what us web designers want for you, may be different from what your prospective and existing customers need from your web site.
Why Do People Really Visit Your Web Site?
If you start to look at web design from a practical manner, you have to acknowledge that the largest single group of people probably visiting your web site are people looking for your phone number, fax number, e-mail address or a map and address of how to get to your location. Wow, that's humbling. Here I am a hot shot web designer and I can achieve a huge part of my mission by just putting clear contact information on an easy to find page!
Helping You Keep Your Site Up-To-Date
After we acknowledge that contact information is the most important content on the web site, we have to acknowledge that the largest percentage of "ongoing web maintenance" is what we call Quick Changes. If you can log into your own web site with a password and add pages, add photos, change text, add links and upload documents, you are essentially liberated from your web designer on a day-to-day basis.
Content Management is the Great Liberator
Oops, now I'm out of a job! No, most of the time people still have our staff make the changes, but whether you make the changes or our staff does, what makes it possible is called a Content Management System. At Indiana Web Design we created our own CMS, called Proven Structure, and we think it is one of the easiest to use that you will ever find. It powers not only our client sites, but even this site you are reading now!
Testimonials
Hi! It’s been a few months since you did an awesome “makeover” on our old crappy website! I just wanted to say THANK YOU for all of your hard work. Great job. We really appreciate it! - Susanna Metzger Wolf, Metzger Trucking
